For Teens

A place to grow, move, and find your confidence.

Whether you’re brand new to dance or ready to level up, our teen classes balance strong training, creativity, and a supportive environment — without the pressure to compete unless it’s right for you.
You don't have to be advanced!
Many teens hesitate because they feel behind. At Skyline, dancers join at all different levels. We focus on building strong foundations and helping you improve at your own pace — no judgment, no comparison.
Training without burnout
Classes that help you improve — not force you into things before you’re ready.
Performance options (without pressure!)
Dancers can participate in performances and creative projects throughout the season. For those who want to take things further, our competitive track offers additional training — but it’s always a choice, not a requirement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it too late to start?

NEVER!  Dance is for everyone, and at SDC our teachers will meet you where you are.  We offer a number of classes for beginners, and will happily modify combinations and break down concepts for beginners.  It’s never too late to start!

What if I don't look like a dancer?

This is the first thing we hung up when we built our studio!  There is no certain shape you are required to be. We welcome dancers of every size, ability level and age to Skyline.

Will I be with dancers my own age?

Of course!  We absolutely will not require that you start with the little kids just because you’re just starting out.  You may find yourself in a mixed age class with teens and some adults, but everyone is coming to class with the same goal and general experience level.  It’s a very low pressure situation.

What if I'm not flexible enough?

Flexibility is not something the average population needs to practice, or worry about.  Flexibility comes from DANCING, so you’ll find that you gain flexibility as you take class.  There is no flexibility requirement.  You can even join an acro class at any level of flexibility.

What do I wear to class?

Dancewear should be comfortable, fitted, and stretchy.  The rest is up to you!

We ask that dancers wear the shoes for the style they take, and avoid super baggy loose clothing that won’t allow your teacher to see and correct your alignment.

Do I have to be advanced to perform or compete?

No!  Everyone is invited to participate in our year end recital OR our competitive track!

Competitions cater to Novice, Intermediate & Advanced dancers, so even a beginner who loves to dance is allowed to compete.
